The Ancient Order of Elves:  History of Elves in Sosaria

The Union of the Elves and the Great Dividing

Centuries passed, and the distinction between the Golden Elves and the Silver Elves was almost completely lost. The groups had interbred and fused to become one great Elven Nation. No more were there Golden Elves and Silver Elves. All elves spoke the same language and the appearance of all the elves was mixed for every elf had both Golden and Silver in their heritage. Even their religions had been integrated. They had long since decided that Iluvatar and Corellon were simply different names for the same deity who they now called Eru, The One. The names for the Powers (the Valar, or Gods) were interchangeable and depended on personal preference. It was a time of great joy and prosperity for the elves. They built great cities that surpassed even the ones spoken of in stories of old.. The greatest of these cities was the city of Ilcasilme, which was built on the landing spot of the Lost Fleet and in the surrounding woods. The name meant Gleaming Starlight and was named such for the way the light of the stars reflected off the waves at night.

Not all elves were content to simply bask in the glory of their forest utopia, however. Many elves wished to explore the lands of Sosaria and experience what their new realm held. Thus the elders of Ilcasilme decided to send out three tribes to explore, map out and sustain themselves in different parts of Sosaria. One group they sent into the deserts, and lead by the Warrior Elf-maiden Ilyanauko they made their way into the inhospitable sand dunes of the world. The Sea was the destination of the second group, led by the Elf-man Antarte they set forth on a fine ship to explore the waves and what secrets they held. The final group was led by Menoron, a mage and druid was he and with his powers he led his tribe into the mountains. Many years passed and slowly the different tribes lost more and more of their ties to Ilcasilme. Though this worried the elders of the city they learned enough of the different tribes through messages and chance meetings to know each group thrived. Slowly however even these rare communications were lost and the tribes were lost to the knowledge of the Forest Elves. These events are called I'Pinte or The Great Dividing.
