Name Regulations:
Things we ask ourselves when considering an applicant's name:
- Are they named after a modern day household product name? (ex. Mr. Clean, Pepsi, Pinesol etc.)
Result will be immediate rejection.
- Is their name format obnoxious? (ex. MePhIsToPhElEs, KiLLzorDooDHaXXorMan)
Result will be immediate rejection.
- Is their name too modern or based on technology? (ex. Neo, Live Wire)
Result will be determined by the Sintars and Elders depending on the specific name.
Possible rejection.
- Is their name in all capitals? (ex. BOB THE ELF).
This is usually frowned upon. Sintars and Elders will determine if the name is acceptable.
- Is their name a monster name in UO? (ex. Dire Wolf, Reaper, Balron, Collector of Souls)
Result is typically a rejection.
- Does their name have the word "Death" or "Killer" in it?
(ex. Death Knight, Killer of Nuns, Mage Killer etc.)
Elven names are not based on fixation with death. Sintars and Elders will judge the name.
Possible Rejection.
Appearance Regulations:
- Hairstyle cannot be receding, mohawk, topknot or balding. Elves have naturally long beautiful hair and are very proud of it, it is unnatural for them to have hairstyles of these natures.
- Hair colors must be natural looking. Only the following Neon colors are acceptable:
- Facial hair is not acceptable for an elf, however you may join the guild as a half-elf if you desire to keep your facial hair.
- Clothing is also important when portraying an elf. Elves never wear bone armor of any kind and usually prefer light chain mail and leather armor.. They also prefer to wear clothing dyed the colors of nature (Greens of the forest, blues of the sky, browns of the earth). Wearing neon colors and blaze cloth are frowned upon and considered too human for any self respecting elf.
Each applicant is judged and each case may be different. The final decision of any applicant's acceptance or rejection is left to the Elders and Guildmasters.
