Role-Play Awards: The Gold Harp     Gold Harp Quiz The Gold Harp is awarded to Elves who have demonstrated active learning, mastery and teaching of Role-Play. The Gold Harp is a testimony of an Elf's continuous efforts to enhance the gaming experience of others (as well as their own) through a mastery of Role-Play. This award honors the efforts of Elves who are an active part of the role-playing community as well as promote role playing within both the Ancient Order of Elves and in Sosaria as a whole. Requirements you must achieve prior to taking this test: Minimum time in guild: 4 months - Assist in planning for a role playing class by coming up with a lesson plan, organizing the flow of the class, getting in touch with guest speakers and coming up with appropriate exercises or locations where the class will be held - OR - - Teaching a part of the role playing class. Check with the class organizers to see what is available. - Active participation in the role playing forum. At least 10 different 500-word posts on at least 3 different topics. - Playing a major role in a role playing plot or creating a minor role playing plot on your own. - Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of role-playing an Elf. The Elf must be familiar with Elven history, lore and religion and must be able to teach this to others. Enter your character's name: 1. Submit your character's biography. 2. Write a short story from the perspective of a different character. * The character must be strikingly different from your own. * The character must have an easily recognizable profession, but the profession must not be named. (ex. the character may be a pirate, but the story should not say that he is one) 3. Describe the basic rules of RP and discuss the importance of RP in the guild as well as in the game. Explain the challenges one faces while trying to Role-Play an elf in a MMRPG such as Ultima Online. 4. Explain a situation where you’ve been in game and there was an OOC interference that disrupted the flow of Role-Play. Describe how you, or your character, handled it. 5. Write a paragraph entirely in Quenya, on a topic of your choice. Topics may include history, religion, Elven lore and/or Elven races 6. Write an in-character account of a recent adventure in game. 7. What major challenges does one face while trying to Role-Play in a game dominated by those who are not "Role-Players"? 8. How can Role-Playing be encouraged and promoted throughout the guild and across the shard? 9. Would you consider a PK'er (Player Killer) to be a Role-Player? Explain. After submitting your answers, the Elders will review and contact you with the results. The Gold Harp medal will be awarded upon completion of requirements and a successful test result. Good Luck!
