History of the Anfauglir'Quessir

Anfauglir’Quessir, The Desert Elves, are the strongest and most outgoing of the elven races. They were led from Ilcasilme, the ancient elven city, by the elf maiden Ilyanauko. Ilyanauko was one of the greatest warriors the Elven Nation has ever produced and in her people she instilled the importance of physical prowess. Today skill in arms is still indispensable to all Anfauglir’Quessir. The Great Deserts of Sosaria, known as the Y'Nah Teb, are filled with all manner of creatures such as Ophidians and Terathans. These beasts combined with the unforgiving heat of the dunes, required very strong, clever elves to survive. As Survivalist, the Anfauglir’Quessir eventually became a flourishing society. Most lived in nomadic groups that traveled from oasis to oasis in the Y’Nab Teb and their richly decorated tents were visible for miles around while having the ability to be packed up in minutes should the need arise.

When you live in a landscape that changes as quickly as the wind can blow the sand, you must be able to adapt. Once a year a great meeting is held at a secret location to which all the tribes of Anfauglir’Quessir meet and socialize. They trade goods with one another but the main purpose for this grouping is marriage. A huge feast is prepared and couples who have waited all year for this day are joined together by a priest. They have lived in this same fashion since they left Ilcasilme a millennia ago. There are few other races who dwell in the Y’Nab Teb and so their culture has remained pure of outside influences.

Characteristics of the Anfauglir'Quessir 

Centuries of survival in the desert have made the Anfauglir’Quessir the strongest of the elven races. They often stand a full head or more taller then their distant kin. Centuries in the harsh sun has darkened their skin somewhat and they can range from fairly tan to a deep brown color. Their hair comes in all colors, however, shades of brown is most common. while their eyes are usually a very dark brown or black. The Anfauglir’Quessir culture is the greatest producer of warriors among the elves. They are deadly with all instruments of war and are taught from a very young age how to wield them. Their very survival in the harsh deserts depends on their skills and those who do not become masters early on usually perish. Mages are rare in the Anfauglir’Quessir due to the fact that reagents are quite hard to come by in the deserts. Many Anfauglir’Quessir who do not dwell in their native deserts tend to choose the arcane path however, and are just as magically adept as other elves. The attitude of the Anfauglir’Quessir is that of total confidence. They are masters of their domain and enjoy being in control. Compared to other elven races they are seen as slightly brash and are known for following their instincts… which usually leads them in the right direction.
